Avocados are my favourite fruit, so when UK magazine Top Sante asked me to review Odylique’s Avocado 24-Hour Replenishing Cream, I agreed to receive a sample.
“What do you think?” I asked, handing it to Eddie, as I often do for his opinion.
“Smells lovely,” he replied. “What is it?”
”A skin cream made from avocados and essential oils. Top Sante sent it.”
”In exchange for writing a review?”
”Yeah, the scent reminds me of the steam rooms at the Thermae Spa in Bath.”
Bath is a city close to my heart because it was my first experience living away from Plymouth, my birth city, in 1999. I lived in Bath for one year as a single mother; until August 2000 when my daughter Louise, our cat Ollie Felix Moonshine and I returned to Plymouth for two years, because: 1. Louise missed her dad, grandparents, aunties and uncles. 2. I was being stalked by a person whom I had briefly dated. 3. I was losing my mind because I was being stalked. 4. I was relying on church food handouts, for which I am grateful. 5. The course I was studying was not journalism and I wanted to be a magazine journalist.
Decision to leave made, Dad hired a van, drove to Bath, loaded the van with our furniture, belongings and Ollie, posted the keys to our rental house through the agency’s letterbox and drove us to Plymouth, after which I changed my number.
Top Sante’s Beauty Editor: ”What do you think of the cream?”
”Truthfully, my skin feels relaxed. Last night, it felt tight and stressed. Not any more …”
